Because of the relative ease of the fraud, odometer crimes could be on the upswing, Tyson says. An agency unit works with state and federal prosecutors to try to put a damper on odometer crime.
You need to be very careful when you purchase a used car. Trust no person or dealership. Do a thorough investigation and have your own mechanic examine the car for mileage issues.
